Plot

It's about three very different families competing for the same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems. The exterior shots of the house are the same house that Mitchell and Cam lived in on Modern Family.

Similar plot, acting, and humor

It even stars one of the actresses from that show. I'm on episode 4, and so far I like Dead to Me better.

He's still very likable, though

Ray Romano, who I loved, hasn't done a single good job because everyone loves Raymond. I don't know if it's the script or what, but he seems to have lost some of his shine from the days when everyone loved Raymond.

The characters are diverse, reflecting different sides of society, and the plot is creative and amusing, and at one point it applies to any of the situations that occur in the series..
